Il regista del film Davide Maldi

Davide Maldi

Born in Rome in 1983, graduated from the Roman School of Comics, he began working as an illustrator and storyboard artist for cinema. He attended the Faculty of Performing Arts and Sciences at the Sapienza University of Rome.

Since 2001 he has worked as a director producing films, documentaries and social research works and collaborating with many experimental theater companies. He makes films halfway between reality and fiction, his works are born of relationships and long research phases to stay in close contact with the landscape and with people. He tries to find in modern society contemporary forms of rites of passage and new ceremonies, with which the passage of an individual or a group from one state to another is sanctioned.

In 2014, his first feature film, Frastuono, was presented at the international competition of the 32nd Turin Film Festival.

In 2017 he founded L’Altauro, a cultural association with the aim of developing and producing cinematographic works and artistic projects. In 2019 he produces and realizes the photography of the film La strada per le montagne, the first feature film by Micol Roubini, presented in the international competition at the 41st Cinema du reel.
